Calculation of metabolizable protein and energy of tomato pomace by nylon bags and gas production data

This study was carried out to the determination of nutritive value of Tomato pomace (untreated and treated with 1 and 2% urea) using nylon bag and gas production techniques in Gizel sheep . Tow fistulae Gizel sheep with average BW 35±1.8 kg used in a complete randomized design. MP of untreated, treated with 1 and 2% urea was 190.44, 208.21 and 215.01g/kg respectively that showed significant differences (p<0.05). ME of untreated, treated with 1 and 2% urea was 5.236, 5.341 and 5.376 mj/kg respectively that showed significant differences (p<0.05). data showed that treating with urea can improve MP and ME content of Tomato Pomace.
