Geeta Ahlawat

Parturient with kyphoscoliotic spinal deformity presents a unique challenge for anaesthetic management if presenting for emergency caesarean section. Kyphoscoliosis along with physiological changes of pregnancy may present with cardiopulmonary problems, difficulty in performing subarchnoid block and unpredictability of level of block. Here, we report a case of 25 year old, 2nd gravida having 39 weeks gestation with thoraco-lumbar kyphoscoliosis presenting for emergency caesarean section.
