A survey of the Khandala tahsil was carried out for a period of three years beginning from June 2007, for collection and identification of reptiles in the region. It was observed that the area shows 2 species of turtle, 5 species of Geckos, 2 species of lizards, 1 species of chameleon, 2 species of skinks, 1species of lacertid, 1 species of varanus and 19 species of snakes.
